Karo Duro is an artist and creative director known for fusing art and technology to craft emotive bodies of work that invite connection and introspection. Her artistic approach takes shape in multiple forms; from surreal art pieces displayed on canvas in traditional gallery settings to her more "experiential" art installations where she integrates evocative storytelling with immersive technologies like Virtual Reality, HD Screen Displays, and Projector Mapping.
Karo Duro was born in Nigeria, raised in Ireland, and is now based in the United States. She is a self-taught artist who studied Computer Science, with a special focus on Human Computer Interaction at Georgia State University and Extended Reality at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Karo Duro’s intentional blend of digital and physical mediums enables her to create deeply engaging experiences, narratives, and think pieces.The end result is a body of work that is best experienced rather than explained. Overall, her ultimate goal is to evoke a shared sense of curiosity and wonder through the modalities of her creative expression.

I believe the mind is a medium where multiple dimensions can exist. As an artist and tech practioner, this belief forms the foundation of my exploration into existence, reality, and the hidden structures that shape society. I investigate a myriad of themes through a lens that is both critical and phantasmagorical. Through immersive installations and surreal imagery, I examine what it means to survive and exist in an era of constant stimulation, existential questioning, interconnectedness yet isolation, and rapid technological transformation.
Karo Duro's work has circulated around notable spheres both locally and globally including Google Arts and Culture, Fulton County Public Arts, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Desiderio Gallery in Vienna.
Additionally she has also worked with notable brands such as JUST Water, Epic Games, Warner Brothers, and TikTok.
